Tech Prep was founded in 1992 to manage the affairs of the Lower Rio Grande Valley Tech Prep Consortium. With partnerships expanding over time, Tech Prep staff now manage multiple regional collaborative partnerships. Current partnerships include the Lower Rio Grande P-16 Council, Academic Leadership Alliance, Education and Career EXPO, and others.

Spent the last few days at the Jobs for the Future (JFF) Horizons 2022 Conference in New Orleans as part of our work with RGV LEAD’s Pathway to Prosperity programs. Stakeholders from across the nation gathered to share emerging trends and issues impacting students’ successful transition to postsecondary and the workplace. The sessions were informative and plenty of networking opportunities. Coming home with lots of ideas and best practices.
Executive Director Luis Rodriguez and TRPN contractor Dr. Norma Salaiz are attending the Horizons JFF Conference in Louisiana.
Through these grants, RGV LEAD is in partnership with 12 school districts spanning the Rio Grande Valley.
The Texas Regional Pathways Network (TRPN) was launched in 2019 in efforts to increase economic prosperity in Texas by linking education and industry. With the grants, districts will work to develop refine and scale high quality career and education pathways. Districts can share knowledge, practices, make connections to service their goals.

Because of your support, we made a five thousand dollar donation to The TSTC Foundation, which they will match dollar for dollar. That is TEN THOUSAND DOlLARS of scholarships given to students who will attend Texas State Technical College.
On Another note, TSTC in Harlingen and RGV LEAD - Rio Grande Valley Linking Economic and Academic Development are collaborating to highlight students working on Dual Enrollment and will further their education at TSTC.
