A big thank you to all of our students and families who joined us yesterday for Storytime at the Weslaco public library with our librarian Mrs. Avila and Mrs. Corpus from Silva Elementary. 📚✨We loved sharing a story and celebrating the joy of reading together.

As summer continues, don’t forget to make reading part of your daily routine. Reading throughout the summer helps keep minds active, builds vocabulary, and prepares students for a successful new school year.

Dr. R. E. Margo Elementary was honored to be represented by our principal, Ms. Arcadia Lopez, at the Weslaco East Wildcat Principal Luncheon hosted by Athletic Coordinator Coach Cuellar.

This special event brought together campus leaders from across the Weslaco East feeder pattern to strengthen partnerships, share ideas, and continue building opportunities for student success from elementary school through high school. Ms. Lopez was presented with a campus banner proudly displaying the message, “The Future of Weslaco East Begins At…”—a reminder that the journey of every Wildcat starts in our elementary classrooms.

At Dr. R. E. Margo Elementary, we are excited about the opportunity to collaborate with our feeder schools and strengthen the connection between our students and the future opportunities that await them at Weslaco East. Together, we are creating a pathway that supports academic achievement, leadership, athletics, and student success every step of the way.

We are proud to be part of the Wildcat family and look forward to continuing to build meaningful partnerships that help our students thrive from elementary school to graduation.

💜🖤 Farewell to a DREM Legend 🖤💜

Today, it is with both gratitude and heavy hearts that we announce the retirement of Coach Adriel Martinez after an incredible 39 years of dedicated service to education and the students of our community.

Coach Martinez has been so much more than a coach. He has been a mentor, role model, encourager, and friend to generations of DREM students. Through his patience, kindness, and dedication, he has helped shape the lives of countless children, teaching lessons that reached far beyond the pavilion and field.

For years, Coach Martinez greeted each day with a smile, a helping hand, and a genuine belief in every child who walked through our doors. His impact can be seen in the confidence he built, the memories he created, and the lives he touched. He has inspired students to work hard, believe in themselves, and always give their best.

His influence extends beyond our students. Coach Martinez has been a valued colleague and cherished member of the DREM family. His positive spirit, dedication, and commitment to our campus have left a lasting mark on every staff member fortunate enough to work alongside him.

While we are excited for the adventures and well-deserved rest that retirement will bring, it is impossible to imagine DREM without him. His presence, leadership, and heart will be deeply missed.

Coach Martinez, thank you for nearly four decades of service, love, and commitment to children. Your legacy will live on in the thousands of students and educators whose lives you have touched.
