Texas Retired Teachers Association THE voice for all public education retirees in Texas!
Over the weekend, I published an editorial in the The Dallas Morning News calling for the legislature to invest in a meaningful cost-of-living increase for our retired Texas teachers and school employees. Our TX teacher retirement system's benefits were recently ranked second to last in the country. Now is the time to support our retired educators!

TRTA District 1 was recently awarded two Certificates of Recognition at the 2022 TRTA State Conference. One for the highest percentage increase in members and the other for the highest increase in membership numbers. We were the only District of the 20 in Texas that received two awards, and there were very few awards given. We are very proud of District 1 and all of its members for this notable achievement. It was a concerted collaborative effort amongst all of District 1’s local units. Everyone made a tremendous effort to recruit members from the largest local unit to the smallest, and the recognition is shared equally among all.
Thank you fto our members for your commitment to the Texas Retired Teacher Association in supporting its advocacy for Texas retired teachers. United we can enhance and ensure the health, finances, and security of Texas teachers!
Hoping to see you soon (April 22) at our Spring Leadership Conference!
