Valor Tactical Patrol Rifle Course in Donna,Texas training Donna Pd officers. Great day of shooting from unconventional positions, barricades, patrol unit, extended range shots, working thru malfunctions, and using cover and concealment when deploying the patrol rifle.

It was a very hot day. You can never pick and choose your training environment. Just do it. Great to see all these new Donna pd officers put in the work in this course.

In every Valor Basic Swat I Course we have special training areas that we add to the Basic Swat curriculum to test the swat candidates will power, personal skill sets, physical and mental endurance, their ability to work as a team and force them to dig down into their inner self’s and find their own deficiencies. No excuses!

The Bus Rescue / Assault assessment forces swat candidates to work as a team and execute the mission within a time limit based on their skill sets. Based on the resources of the class they have to place the right swat candidates in the right positions to conduct the rescue and assault the Bus.

The caveat to this assessment is that the team is composed as an “ad hoc team”, police officers from different agencies. This forces them to get comfortable being uncomfortable with each other.

We never had a class complete the assessment in less than 22 attempts. This is where we see who is ready to step it up and suck it up and just do it. It’s great to see how they come together and strategize how to execute the mission the fastest, safest way possible.

This is called “Tactical Leadership”.

By far, this is one of the hardest assessments in our Valor Basic Swat I course.
