💻✨ IDEA Public Schools is proud to celebrate three outstanding CTE educators in our Programming and Software Development pathway: Hunaida Al-Hayek, James Strain, and Ana Marcela Cardenas.

Across our district, more than 40 schools offer computer science courses, and this year 350 students have completed the Programming and Software Development pathway. 🎓🚀 This success is made possible by dedicated teachers who help students build real-world skills in coding, game design, problem-solving, and innovation.

Shout out to Donna Middle School for delivering an outstanding lesson on how to tie a Windsor Knot! This practical skill is a valuable addition to students' professional readiness toolkit and will serve them well in future interviews, presentations, and career opportunities that require professional attire. It was great to see students learning a real-world skill that builds confidence, professionalism, and workplace readiness. What a great way to end the school year strong and prepare students for future success!

IDEA Round Rock Tech scholars had an incredible experience competing at the Texas TSA State Conference! 🏅🏅🏅

In their first year of TSA, IDEA Round Round Tech scholars advanced to State and competed in Music Production, Forensic Science, Biotechnology, and Structural Design. 📹👨‍🔬🎶

They had a wonderful time exploring downtown Fort Worth and connecting with students from across Texas. We are incredibly proud of our scholars for stepping up to compete and advance to the State level. 👏👏👏

🚀🌕 From the Classroom to the Moon! 🌕🚀

Engineering Foundations students from IDEA Harlingen College Prep, IDEA San Juan College Prep, and IDEA Los Encinos College Prep partnered with Space Center Houston to take on the Lunar Challenge, designing solutions that could support future lunar habitats and help astronauts live and work on the Moon.

Through research, collaboration, and engineering design, students tackled real-world challenges similar to those faced by today's aerospace engineers, turning ideas into innovative solutions for life beyond Earth.

With summer starting, we would like to highlight the impact Raise the Bar has on our Legal Studies students as they gain firsthand experience in the legal field and begin shaping their future careers. Through internships and professional experiences, students are able to connect classroom learning to real-world legal work, courtroom procedures, and the impact the justice system has on communities.

For Emily Garza, the program provided a deeper understanding of how the law affects people on a personal level and reinforced her confidence in pursuing a future career in law.

For Perla Bautista, the experience expanded her knowledge of the legal system, strengthened her interest in government and legal careers, and gave her greater confidence in the path she hopes to pursue after high school.

We are incredibly proud of our students for taking advantage of these opportunities and continuing to Raise the Bar both inside and outside of the classroom.
