The Samson Project.... who is Samson anyway? The Samson Project was born from a powerful personal journey of healing, self-discovery, and transformation. It’s named after Samson, a horse whose behavior and resilience helped me understand the deep connection between emotional healing and personal growth.
For years, I struggled with my own trauma. In the chaos of past wounds, I found myself trapped in unhealthy patterns, unable to move forward. I had a deep, unspoken bond with my horse, Samson, but despite this, we didn’t get along. He often acted out with me, displaying behaviors I couldn’t understand. He was difficult to handle, and yet, when others interacted with him, he was calm and responsive.
When I started making changes in my own life- walking away from toxic relationships, seeking therapy, and working through my personal challenges - I began to notice a shift in Samson. As I worked on myself, he began to act calmer and more at ease around me. It was then that I realized: Samson’s behavior was a reflection of my emotional state. Through this mirror effect, I could track my own healing by observing how he responded to me.
This insight sparked the vision for The Samson Project. Inspired by the way horses so intuitively mirror our emotions, I founded this nonprofit with a clear mission: to help individuals overcome trauma and reclaim their lives. Just as Samson’s presence helped me find healing, we use horses to guide others on their path to emotional recovery. By working with horses, people can learn to identify and process their feelings, gaining valuable insights into their own healing journey.
Our programs provide a safe, supportive space for individuals to heal, learn, and thrive. Through our work, we aim to create a world where people can heal from their past traumas and live their lives with the peace and clarity they deserve.
