⚽️ JV BOYS — TWO-GAME RECAP
Wendell vs. American Falls
Thursday’s matchup against American Falls was a big test for our JV boys. The first time these two teams met, American Falls handed us an 8–0 loss, so the boys knew exactly what kind of team they were facing.
But this time around, it was a completely different Wendell team.
Just one minute after the opening whistle, the Trojans struck first! Oswaul Lima got his head on the ball and put it into the back of the net to give Wendell an early lead.
From there, the boys continued to push and fight. We created several huge opportunities to add to the lead but just couldn’t find the finishing touch.
Defensively, though, the boys were outstanding. They stayed organized, structured, and disciplined. They blocked shots, cut off crosses, closed passing lanes, and made it extremely difficult for American Falls to create anything dangerous.
And when American Falls did manage to break through, goalkeeper Iván Hernández was there. Iván wasn’t afraid to get dirty, putting his body on the line and making some huge saves for the team.
Going from an 8–0 loss the first time we met to competing, scoring, and making American Falls work for every opportunity showed just how far this young JV team has come.

The boys weren’t finished. Miguel sent a cross into the box, and Thomas Castro got a high toe on it and knocked it into the net to finish off the scoring!

Two games that showed two different sides of this JV team: discipline and defensive organization against American Falls, followed by an explosive offensive performance against Fruitland.
This JV program is still growing, but the improvement these boys are showing is something to be proud of. They’re learning, competing, and getting better every time they step onto the field.
Keep working, boys! Go Trojans!
