How do you allow your toddler to be independent? 🌱

Independence starts with simple, everyday opportunities to try things for themselves:

👟 Putting on or taking off their shoes
🥤 Pouring their own water
🧼 Washing their hands
🧸 Cleaning up after play
🌱 Helping care for plants or other classroom/home tasks

Grace and Courtesy is an important part of the Montessori approach.

From learning to say “please” and “thank you” to taking turns, caring for others, and respectfully communicating their needs, children are given opportunities to practice meaningful social skills every day.

Grace and Courtesy doesn’t stop at the classroom it can be practiced at home, too!

🌱 Model respectful language: “please,” “thank you,” and “excuse me.”
🌱 Encourage children to greet others and say goodbye.
