Jill’s friend Carrie is putting together a memory book for our kids to know more about Jill from your perspective. If you have memories or stories about Jill that you would like to share with them, we would love for you to take some time to write an email to Carrie about Jill. Carrie will collect the emails and put the book together. Her email is: [email protected]

If you are planning to attend Jill’s Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 9, there will also be opportunities to handwrite a memory for our family as well, though the handwritten notes will be separate from the email letter-book.

Thank you,
Brad

UPDATE FROM ME ❤️

Hello!
Quite a few of you have reached out desiring an update. First of all, thank you for caring for me and my family well and reaching out. I just noticed it's been 2 months since I've written...

Now here's my update...
I had my 3rd vaccine towards the end of August, and then home. Oh how lovely it felt to land one last time in Seattle. Sigh...
The purpose of doing dendritic Cell Treatment was to reprogram my immune system to fight the cancer, as cancer in all our bodies wants to hide. With any immune response there will be inflammation, fatigue and nausea. So yes, that's where I'm at today. I am so grateful to know my body, to have done the healing work years ago, and honor her. When she tells me to rest or sleep, as much as my brain wants to get one more thing done, I pause and rest. This is how our bodies heal. Recently the nausea picked up, but all this I carry a thought, "bring it one, if this is what heals me!" I am hopeful the nausea, fatigue and inflammation around my liver is due to the immune system responding well to the recent treatment. As we know, cancer rarely happens overnight. Same with the healing journey. I'm in it for the long haul with this type of healing. I believe my body was created to heal and that's where I'm headed. Full healing!

I have every other week blood work, and meet with my Metabolic Terrain Dr. monthly. Sometimes I check in with my Oncologist here in Wentachee, and my GI Oncologist at Fred Hutch, but mostly I'm living in the trust of the process. Yes, there are really hard days, emotionally. Fear creeps in, doubt hovers, and I see life and death with a new lens. But what I know is our thoughts create our feelings, our feelings change our behavior which shifts our results. Authentically, I'll keep showing up in hope and trust for full healing. Please join me as I meditate on this mantra...
"My body is well
My liver is healthy
I am cancer free"

I am learning suffering does produce healing. It's not the lesson I wanted to learn, but this is my lot and I'll carry it with authenticity, emotions, concern, reality, love, compassion and a never ending advocacy. I am hopeful my story will lend it's self to someone else's story of healing and freedom.

Did you know gratitude interrupts our amygdala, which drips cortisol, which is our stress hormone. Today, along with most days (not all), I find 1 thing to offer gratitude in, interrupting unnecessary stress, creating a sense of balance in my system. So today, I am deeply grateful for each of you, your generosity, and care for me, this healing journey and my sweet family. You have eased our load considerably!

Will I go back to Immunocine? Not sure. I'll get a CT Scan in Seattle on 11/15, finding results that day. This scan will determine next steps. For now...I'm in the waiting...

All my love!
Jill

This cancer journey has taken a hard turn. As a result, I will be taking a break from social media. If you’d like updates as well as ways to show support, please check out my Give InKind page.

Here are some recent updates that have led me to take a step back from updating social media:

In March, I shared a scan about tumor shrinkage and was thrilled that alternative treatment from both Hoxsey Biomedical and my Integrative Naturopath were working. I believe in full healing and had hoped this would be the path. This began after 6 rounds of chemo & surgery in the fall/winter.

By the end of April we learned my numbers up slightly, so my Int. Nat. Oncologist decided for a tumor test & PET Scan which showed cancer still isolated to the liver (this is necessary, because Feb 2025 I’ll be viable for a transplant as long as the cancer remains in my liver.) With rising numbers, I decided to start chemo again. I also found out the cancer has 5 mutations. This was devastating news. I had hoped the chemo would work the same and I immediately was scheduled for a round two chemo for Jun 12th. We’ve also hired another Doctor & team of scientists to research other treatments globally. We’re a month out form their findings. On June 19th, I will also have a histotripsy in Seattle targeting 3-5 tumors. They’re hopeful of the abscopal effect occurring this time.

This all has caused a rainbow of emotions daily for me. Fear, devastation, regret, frustration, anger, desire, hope, gratitude, preciousness, envy, pain, WTF. Tears often flow and I am grateful to be able to express my emotions however I need. I hope to be back on social media again soon.

All my love & gratitude.

Brad and Jill are so grateful to have your help! Jill invites you to be direct when offering help. For instance if you want to visit text her and offer several times that you are free to visit and ask if one of the times works. Or, say "I want to come do your laundry from 1-3, does that work for you...

I had the wonderful opportunity to be featured on NCW Life's "Live it Up" segment, where I discussed the importance of becoming present. This conversation is close to my heart and so relevant as we navigate the ups and downs of life.

Being present helps us connect more deeply with ourselves and others, manage stress, and find joy in the little moments. Let's continue this journey towards becoming present together.
