Dear Antelope Families and Students,
We are excited to share more great news about Antelope Union High School’s continued partnership with Arizona Western College (AWC) and the growing opportunities available to our students through dual enrollment.
AWC has generously provided our dual-enrollment students with a scholarship that will cover full tuition for one AWC dual enrollment course each semester, for a maximum of two dual enrollment courses during the school year.
This is an especially meaningful benefit because AWC already makes dual enrollment extremely affordable at just $30 per credit hour. With this scholarship opportunity, eligible Antelope students can receive an even greater financial benefit while earning college credit before graduating from high school.
This opportunity comes at an exciting time for Antelope. Nearly 40% of our student body is currently enrolled in dual enrollment courses, our highest participation level in more than a decade. We are also excited to continue expanding access to these opportunities for sophomores, juniors, and seniors, allowing even more students to begin earning college credit while still attending Antelope.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to AWC President Dr. Reetika Dhawan for coordinating with Superintendent Michael Deiana to help make this opportunity possible. Dr. Dhawan and Superintendent Deiana were both members of the 2022 Flinn-Brown Fellowship cohort, and this collaboration is a wonderful example of the strength of the Flinn Foundation network and the opportunities that can be created when Arizona leaders work together on behalf of students.
We are incredibly grateful to Arizona Western College for its continued investment in Antelope students and in the future of rural Arizona. Partnerships like this help us remove financial barriers, expand access to higher education, and provide our students with more opportunities to graduate prepared for college, career, and life.
