Peter and Paul School provides a Christian learning environment where children can grow spiritually, socially, intellectually and physically. Serving both Catholic and non-Catholic families from Jackson and Vinton counties, the school is accredited by the Ohio Catholic School Accrediting Association (OCSAA) and chartered in the State of Ohio. Peter and Paul has been proudly providing children with

love and respect in a safe environment for over 100 years. Peter and Paul School serves students in preschool through the eighth grade. First through eighth grade students are taught in multi-age classrooms (two grades per room). This allows novices to learn from masters and teachers to build strong relationships with students over time.

May 26th, 2023. I didn’t get a chance to post our last, last day of school. It has been just too difficult. And maybe, I thought, if I didn’t post about it, it didn’t happen. But as I cleaned the school this week, reality set in. So, I needed to think back on this amazing day and think about all of the love and laughter we shared!
We started our morning off with prayer and we sang our favorite hymn. We celebrated our teachers with an award and we celebrated summer birthdays. The inflatables arrived and by 9:30 all of our classes were having a wonderful time! Children had fun all day. We spent some time outside and also had some fun in the classrooms. We shared a wonderful picnic lunch and later in the day we enjoyed Whit’s custard!! But, unfortunately 2:30 arrived way too soon. We sent our students out with a blessing as they headed out the door. Thank you to all who have supported our amazing school over 117years!!!!! We love you!

Today was our last day at SPPS. Usually our students, faculty and stafff are excited for summer break. But this day was very different. It’s the day we were all dreading. Yes, we had a fabulous Friday and that will be shared. But,unfortunately 2:30 arrived way too soon. We love our students so much and we wanted them to feel extremely loved as they headed out the door. We called each child by name and gave them a special blessing as they exited our amazing school. We wish all of our amazing students the best of luck! May God bless you always!

Thankful Thursday! Wow, what a busy day! Our 7th/8th graders traveled to Jenkins Nursing home to donate some of our beautiful art work for the residents to enjoy! Our 1st/2nd grade class invited several of our teachers to read a special book to them and give out awards! After lunch, our K-4th grade students went bowling because each student met their reading goals! Our 5th/6th graders walked to a field close by and set off their rockets! The 8th graders practiced for graduation and then grades 5-8 decorated the parish hall for our reception! Our graduates had fun taking pictures around the school. Tonight was our last graduation ceremony. We invited the 5th-7th graders to attend to receive awards as well. Graduation was so nice! The reception was fun too! Lots of hugs were given today. Tears were shed but we are still focusing on all of the happiness of being together!!

Wonderful Wednesday!! Today there was both excitement and sadness in the air! We started our morning by setting up the parish hall for our reception! Our students set up their picture boards and placed photo albums around the hall. We then prepared for our very special Mass! The church was packed. It was so beautiful! The children’s voices echoed through the school! Father had a special blessing for our students. (There were a lot of tears shed during this Mass. After the Mass we had a wonderful reception. So many SPPS supporters attended! The 1st/2nd students sang a special song with Mr Michael. (Mr Cool) We then introduced our graduating seniors who had graduated from SPPS and we introduced our 8th grade graduates! Sami and Kailee entertained us by playing their clarinets. We then had a surprise when all of our students starting singing” I won’t grow up” from Peter Pan! It was terrific! We just had to sing our favorite “Fruit of the Spirit “ ! We ended our reception with a beautiful slideshow with pictures from this year. (Yes, there were more tears shed.) We went on about our day- being joyful, laughing and loving. Our 8th graders practiced for graduation and our preschoolers ended their year with a fun carnival! Overall, it was a Wonderful Wednesday.

We thought it might be nice to document every dayof our last week of school. We had a fabulous Monday. We started out with prayer in church and practiced a favorite hymn for Wednesdays Mass. Our preschool and kindergarten students practiced for their graduation program. After taking attendance and saying our morning prayers, we loaded onto the bus for a fantastic trip to Canters Cave! While we were there, we hiked, played in the creek, played ball and played on the swings. We hung out, had lunch and ended our trip with popsicles! We returned very tired and a little dirty and smelly! But that just means we had the best day ever!!! Today was the last day for our 4yr preschool! They had a marvelous day as well!
