Today, we celebrated our friends who are moving on to kindergarten in a few short weeks. I am so blessed to have been apart of their lives during these formative years. It’s been such an honor and joy!! I know they are ready to conquer the next leg of their journey. ❤️

Consistency is key.

Morning routine is an important part of that consistency.

I wake up early to get my workout in before my day gets started. Today I added some track work to help my son who is preparing for his soccer season.🤞🙏

I always have the same basic breakfast everyday to fuel my body: a protein, carb and veggie.

Now I’m ready to conquer my day! 💪

Your daily dose of inspiration!!

I shared this with the Forest Ridge families but I decided I just had to share this to a greater audience. In a world filled with so much hate, we need more of this! ❤️ These littles that I work with every day inspire me to teach empathy and compassion!!

There is so much more to kindergarten readiness than rote memory of numbers, letters and phonics. Obviously they are important aspects but to me, social/emotional development and gaining empathy and cooperation is just as important, if not more!

These kiddos amaze and inspire me each and every day!! They are my “why” for everything I work hard to accomplish in life!!

Hope everyone is having a great day and take some time to show empathy and compassion to others. 🥰

I lived in Asheville, NC for approximately 10 years and this model of education is such a perfect fit for this community. This is a great article providing research-based evidence behind the benefits of learning outdoors for all students regardless of the community.

School is no longer an indoor affair as WNC embraces outdoor classrooms.

We are in search of a teacher substitute at The Forest Ridge School. Located just outside of Wellsboro, The Forest Ridge School is a home and nature-based early childhood program serving children ages 6 weeks to 12 years of age. We operate Monday through Friday, 7 am to 5 pm. We are currently in need of a teacher substitute to work full-time during a 12 to 13-week period next fall, September through December, while the owner/teacher completes a required field experience for her MS program. Some flexibility may be possible with days and times. In addition, the substitute teacher would be asked to work on an “as needed” basis before and after this time period. Due to state ratio requirements of 6 children, potential hires cannot bring their own children to work. All applicants should enjoy being outdoors as we spend many hours outside when weather permits. Reliability and love for children are a must. Experience preferred in early education and/or PreK-4 teaching. Education in the field is not necessary but would be preferred. We are willing to provide additional training and educational opportunities. The following will be required: clearances, a staff health assessment including TB test, Pediatric First Aid and CPR, and references. All interested individuals please apply online at https://www.theforestridge.org/. Call (828) 243-1521 with additional questions. Applicants will be interviewed by both the owner and current families of the program. Pay is approximately $10 per hour and will be based on experience and education. Assistance may be provided for required clearances and coursework.

We offer an outdoor-based nature immersion early learning program for children of all abilities ages 6 weeks to 12 years.

I am so sorry to hear that Erin Kenny from Cedarsong Nature School passed away last night. I was blessed to be in the group of 4 to last train with Erin at Cedarsong just one month ago. While any training with Erin would be one to always remember, it was an emotional training to experience with many tender and fragile moments. It was inspirational to see the passion still shining in her eyes despite her physical pain. It is something I will never forget. It has refocused me on the the work we have ahead of us to spread her philosophy and teaching model. I feel this is was the greatest message she conveyed to us in last month's training: to take the reigns and to keep the momentum of this movement going. Many prayers and thoughts going out to Erin's family who I was so blessed to meet. Erin, you have touched so many families, children and educators and you will be in our hearts forever.
