This week, we are excited to give a Mid-Prairie High School Staff Shout Out to Mr. Lucas Troyer, our Industrial Technology Teacher!

Lucas does a fantastic job of providing students with real-world learning opportunities and hands-on experiences that prepare them for the future. Whether students are learning Basic Welding, Drafting, or Residential Construction, Lucas encourages them to try new things, develop new skills, and create outstanding projects. He creates a great balance of supporting his students and challenging them to grow!

Lucas’s positive attitude, sense of humor, and strong work ethic do not go unnoticed. He is appreciated by his students, colleagues, and the community for the difference he makes every day.

If you see Mr. Troyer, be sure to thank him for helping our students develop their skills, discover their potential, and build their futures!

🗳️ What Will the Ballot Say?

On November 3, 2026, voters within the Mid-Prairie Community School District boundaries will have the opportunity to vote on a proposed $19 million general obligation bond.

If approved, the bond would fund improvements at the high school, including a new events entrance, a 500-seat auditorium, fine arts classrooms, and renovations and improvements to existing special education and general education classrooms.

The ballot question outlines the proposed projects and asks voters to authorize the district to issue general obligation bonds not to exceed $19 million.

📅 Election Day: Tuesday, November 3, 2026

Mid-Prairie is committed to providing information to help community members understand the proposed bond. Watch for additional information in the coming weeks.

Congratulations to Lynde Cole for winning the FFA NW Sub District Livestock Judging contest! The team of Lynde Cole, Kenley Jeffries, Leah Kelley and Naomi Wadsworth placed 1st as a team in the contest.

Seven Mid-Prairie High School students took part in the Special Olympics bowling competition in Cedar Rapids today. With the assistance of our amazing special education staff, they bowled using a variety of supports, like ramps and bumpers, to help them have the best day ever! Congratulations!

RVC Honor Choir was held Monday, October 5, at Beckman Catholic High School in Dyersville. The event brought together talented student musicians from across the River Valley Conference for an afternoon of collaboration, learning, and music-making.

The event featured both a Middle School Honor Choir and a High School Honor Choir, with students coming together to perform two combined numbers. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to share their love of music, learn alongside other talented singers, and experience the joy of performing together.
