WMS students have been hard at work this week, taking the state assessments!
An assembly was held last week to help motivate students to try their best on the test!
The high school drum line entertained the crowd with an amazing performance, and a few high school seniors spoke about the importance of doing your best on the test.
Students, and some staff, then participated in a whole-school game of Rock, Paper, Scissors that had everyone cheering and having fun together!
Finally, elementary principals shared encouraging messages with the students, telling them they were going to rock the test!
Let’s finish strong, Knights! You’ve got this!

Tomorrow is the day! Students have been working hard to prepare for market day and family literacy night! Stop by between 4 and 6 to check it out. Participants have the opportunity to enter into a raffle for the prize basket pictured below. Thank you to our generous donors: Fabiola's Mexican Restaurant, Wellington Recreation, Sunflower Custom T's, Personal Threads, and WMS Knight's Closet. The basket of goodies is worth over $250. Will you be the lucky winner?
Also, students are planning a book swap, so bring a book you are finished with and trade it out for something new to you! We can't wait to see you!

Yesterday we celebrated another great Student of the Month Assembly at WMS! 🎉

We recognized our outstanding Students of the Month and celebrated the many accomplishments of our school community. Our winter sports teams were honored for their hard work this season, and we also recognized members of our Leadership Team and our Regional Science Fair winners for their impressive achievements.

Our cheerleaders brought the energy with a great routine, and students had a blast participating in a few fun games. It was a wonderful afternoon celebrating the dedication, talent, and spirit of our WMS students!

We’re proud of all of our students and the many ways they represent WMS so well. Keep up the great work! 👏

WMS participated in the Patriot League South Math Relays. This event involves schools sending their best math students to take a math test, competing against their own classmates and students from other middle schools. There is an individual category and a relay team event. WMS made Wellington proud! On the seventh- grade team, Emma Camblin earned a third-place medal in the Number System. Alize Arebalo earned a second-place medal, and Achilles Reynolds took first in Statistics and probability.

The eighth-grade team took first place as a team! Blaine Guthrie earned a second-place medal in the Number System. Eric Blackman won a first-place medal in Expressions and Equations. In the relay team event for that subject, Lane Swingle, Brett Sawyer, and Kyan Aufdengarden earned the gold! In the category Statistics and Probability, Treysen Williams got individual gold, and Blayr Nance, Brittin Lawrence, and Blaine Guthrie were the first-place team.
Team members not yet mentioned include Emiley Anderson, Zoe Rickie, and Kale McPherson.

The Wellington Middle School 8th Grade Choir traveled to Newman University to participate in the Patriot League Music festival.

They took an Italian piece, “Danza, Danza, Fanciulla Gentile” by Francis Durante to perform. They memorized this piece in a different language, performed the piece without an accompanist, and did it unconducted.

The group received a II rating today with a score of 66. I am very proud of this group. They are small in number but did an amazing performance today!
