Confession from the music room: sometimes music is the least impressive thing happening in class.

Sure, we’re teaching rhythm, melody, and music FUNdamentals (see what we did there?) — but we’re also teaching your 4-year-old to wait their turn instead of grabbing the shaker like it’s the last one on earth. We’re teaching them to clean up instruments without being asked seventeen times. We’re teaching them to listen when a friend is talking, even when they REALLY want to tell you about their new shoes.
These are the skills that show up at school, at the dinner table, and yes, eventually in their future career as a functioning adult. Music is just the delightfully loud, extremely fun way we sneak it all in.

Plot twist: the secret to a great music class isn’t the songs, the shakers, or even us — it’s YOU. If you’re in the corner catching up on parent gossip or deep in a text thread, don’t be shocked when your toddler is also “not really feeling it” today. Kids are basically tiny copy machines — if you’re vibing, they’re vibing. If you’re on your phone, congrats, you’ve just taught them that phones > music (kinda rude). So put the phone in your bag, save the chit-chat for the fun play area, and sing, dance and play. You are your child’s favorite performer whether you like it or not — might as well lean in!

College applications are no joke. And being able to add music as an activity always looks good. Even if your kid didn’t start at 7, it’s not too late! Give them a jump start learning something new with one of our summer programs and give them the gift that keeps on giving. Not all 65 year olds can still tap dance or play football, but all 65 year olds can still play guitar and piano! We are offering Uke boot camp, guitar boot camp, Taylor swift singing program, Taylor swift guitar program and a musical theater intensive. Small class sizes for maximum growth. Starting at age 9.
