Of course we all want our children to be happy but trying to protect or shield them from feeling any negative emotions stifles their growth emotionally and later socially as well.

In line at the grocery store, a deep voice said, “School starts soon.”
I turned and looked at the young man standing behind me.
I said, “I loved school.”
“Me, too,” he said. “When I was in fourth grade, my teacher read The Tale of Despereaux out loud to the class.”
“Oh,” I said. “I wish I could thank her.”
“I thanked her,” he said. “I’m a fourth grade teacher now and I read to my students every day.”
I shook the teacher’s hand.
I told him to tell his students “hello” from me.
I bought my groceries.
And as I walked out into the parking lot, I wept a little.
This teacher, all you teachers, reading aloud—you are changing lives, .
Thank you.

Siamo felici di invitarvi sabato 14 settembre 2024 alle ore 10.30 all’inaugurazione del “MUSEO MONTESSORI – educazione e pace”.
L’appuntamento è alle ore 10.00 a Perugia in Corso Bersaglieri (arco terminale) per partecipare ad un Corteo che si dirigerà in Piazza Montessori, passando per Porta Pesa. Da lì poi al taglio del nastro in via Abruzzo e ingresso agli spazi dell’Ente Santa Croce Maria Montessori che ospiterà il Museo.

L’inaugurazione si inserisce nelle celebrazioni storiche del “XIV Settembre 1860 – Liberazione della Città di Perugia” che interessano Borgo Sant’ Antonio e vedrà la partecipazione, fra gli altri, delle Istituzioni locali.

So much to love about nature camp! From picking mint in the garden, planting mint to take home, and then eating mint chocolate chip ice cream…the day could not have gone any better! Not to mention making many new friends this week💚!!

It really works! Instead of children yelling for help from across the room even our youngest students walk to a teacher and do this when they need help or want to tell or show a teacher something. This Montessori practice incorporates more movement into their day and helps to encourage a more peaceful environment!
