MassBay Community College has named Kelly Graska and Richie Haskell as co-head coaches of the College's Unified Sports program, which brings together students with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities to compete as teammates while fostering inclusion, leadership, and community.🌟

"Unified Sports is about so much more than competition," said Graska. "It is about creating a team where every athlete feels valued, supported, and truly part of something. I am excited to work with our students and help continue building a program that represents the very best of MassBay."

Last Saturday was the 3rd Annual MetroWest Prostate Cancer Awareness Event!🤩

The event provided prostate cancer education and free screenings, including PSA blood testing. MassBay's very own Nursing students worked alongside the Nursing Faculty and Event Staff to help with event setup, check-in and registration, taking vital signs, and providing Portuguese and Spanish interpretation for attendees.

The event was a great opportunity for the community to learn more about Prostate Cancer and for the students to get some hands-on experience!🩺

Last week we held the Adopt-A-Plant Program on our Ashland Campus!🪴

Students were able to pick out their own succulent and get a step by step guide on how to care for it! If you're interested in adopting a plant, we will be hosting another Adopt-A-Plant Program on our Framingham Campus on September 30th!

Thank you to everyone who donated so generously to support Team MassBay in The Ride and Stride for Food. Unfortunately, with a significant storm in the forecast and no rain date available, Three Squares New England made the difficult decision to cancel the event this Sunday.

While the weather may have changed our plans, it hasn't changed the need. Students will still come to MassBay worried about where their next meal is coming from, and your gift will still make a difference. The funds you generously contributed will provide food scholarships to students facing food insecurity, helping ensure they have the nourishment they need to focus on their education and achieve their goals.

Although we're disappointed that we won't be able to come together this weekend, we're deeply grateful for the support we’ve received. Thank you for standing with MassBay students and helping ensure they have access to the food they need to succeed.

With gratitude,
Team MassBay

PS. We may have lost the event, but not the momentum. Team MassBay has raised nearly $7,900 toward our $10,000 goal and there’s still time to help us close the gap. Click here to support Team MassBay and MassBay students in the fight against hunger: https://ride.threesquaresne.org/team/831798
