It's a week of fun, healthy choices, and celebrating school meals at Weldon City Schools! Our School Nutrition Team works hard every day to make sure our students enjoy nutritious meals that keep them ready to learn. Join us in giving our cafeteria staff a big round of applause for all they do!

Wired Wednesday is officially underway! We kicked off our first session at Weldon Elementary School with “Active Classroom Engagement: 3 Simple Strategies!” Our teachers collaborated, shared ideas, and experienced firsthand how simple instructional shifts can make a BIG impact on student learning! We want kids to do less passive listening and more thinking, building, and engaging! A special thank you to our WES teachers and administrators for bringing the energy and embracing the learning. Of course, we couldn't end the day without a few selfies! We're getting WIRED, one Wednesday at a time!

Giving Back to Our Students!

Weldon Elementary School is grateful for two special donations supporting our students. The Eveone Hawkins Byrd Memorial Foundation and G. Robinson Electrical donated snacks to our Adaptive Classroom, while bookbags were donated in memory of Ms. Clara Byrd and Ms. Willa Byrd, both remembered for their commitment to helping children be prepared and ready to learn.

We sincerely thank Ms. Shaquana Graham, WCS Board Member Ms. T. Byrd-Robinson, and their family for continuing a beautiful legacy of giving and supporting the students of Weldon City Schools.

Growing Teachers. Engaging Students.

Our Beginning Teachers participated in professional development focused on redesigning lessons to increase student engagement and put more of the intellectual workload in the hands of students.

Mrs. Julal explored with teachers ways to move beyond routine classroom tasks and design learning experiences that encourage students to think, discuss, create, solve problems, and take a more active role in their learning. We’re excited to see these strategies come to life in classrooms across Weldon City Schools!
