The ALICE Make Up Training will be held at Mount View High School at 8:00am in the Auditorium.

Reminder the Transportation Department training will be held at the Phoenix Center starting at 8:00AM.

Our school counselor team put in two days of learning and growing 🪴 with our School Psychologist focused on behaviors and plans to support student needs.

A few of our team members traveled to a state training today to learn how to better use the test authoring platform to gather more meaningful data to support learning. The learning never stops in McDowell! We are always growing 🪴!

That’s a wrap! Our secondary team of teachers completed Day 2 of The Writing ✍️ Revolution! We are excited to see writing across the curriculum at the secondary level in August!

Day 2 of The Writing Revolution Training for our elementary teachers and assistant teachers! ✍️ This group worked so hard over the last two days! We cannot wait to see the strategies in action in August!

✍️📚 We are excited to kick off professional learning with our secondary teachers in The Writing Revolution® Hochman Method! We are building on what we have built in elementary classrooms earlier this year!

This evidence-based approach provides educators with practical, structured strategies to help students strengthen their writing, critical thinking, and communication skills across all content areas. By investing in high-quality instructional practices, we are equipping our teachers with tools that support student success in every classroom.

📚✨ Strong readers are built through strong instruction! Today, our elementary teachers and ECCATs participated in a refresher training focused on systematic, explicit instruction aligned with the Science of Reading.

By sharpening our instructional routines and strengthening our practices, we are ensuring that every student receives the structured, evidence-based literacy instruction they need to become confident, successful readers.
