On 9-25 MCS will celebrate Dolly Day! Students will enjoy books selected from the Imagination Library and celebrate KINDNESS on this day. So get out those cowboy 👢, anything western, or grab anything with glitter, and let’s celebrate 🎊 and show our appreciation of her generosity towards MCS over the years! 📚

TAG A TEACHER & HELP US SPREAD THE WORD!

It's time for our annual Teacher Appreciation Days where area teachers and one guest receive FREE admission to the zoo! New teachers can see what educational opportunities are available here in our corner of Southwest Virginia and we also want to thank the many teachers who bring their classes year after year. Animal feed and the safari bus tour are included! Please present your current teacher ID or paystub to receive your complimentary tickets. This event is open to active instructors in Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and North Carolina who are employed by a public, private, or parochial institution.

Last call to register for our 2026-2027 MCS ESPORTS TEAM! This year we are planning to host competitions in our state of the art ESPORTS arena, visit univerisities and compete in other districts as well. You will not want to miss out on this opportunity!

We are EXCITED about our new ATTENDANCE INCENTIVE to help bring a little fun to the monthly school competition.

Each month during the Principals' Meeting the school with the LOWEST chronic absenteeism rate will get to sn**ch up the traveling GOOSE and take it proudly back to their campus for the next month.

Shortly after we will draw a staff member from the winning school randomly who had perfect attendance for the time period between Principal Meetings to GET OUT OF SCHOOL EARLY! (They will remain on campus prepping and planning while a Central Office Administrator takes over their responsibilities!
