💜Dawson ISD is GROWING and off to a tremendous start to the school year! Good news spreads fast, and Dawson ISD is FULL OF GOOD NEWS!

*We are up to 149 total students... an increase from 135 at the end of May.

*We had 32 NEW students enroll, and we may have room for more, if you are still looking for a new school home!

*We have 15 players out for football to start our season!

*We have students enrolled in 30 dual credit college classes!

Hey, Dragons! We LOVE to see your smiling faces every day, so this is just a happy reminder that attendance is very important! 💜

So, what makes it so important?

Better Learning: Daily lessons build on each other, so missing days creates big learning gaps.

Graduation: Good attendance is a stronger sign of high school graduation than test scores.

Life Habits: Going to school every day helps children build strong work habits and responsibility.

State Funding: Texas schools get money based on how many students show up each day at official attendance times.

BONUS: Elementary students can get recognized at our six weeks' awards ceremonies, and secondary students get a chance to be exempt from semester exams!
