FOSA - Fairfield Outreach and Sponsors Association

FOSA - Fairfield Outreach and Sponsors Association In 1996, two college students traveled to Mutare, Zimbabwe and met the children of Fairfield Orphanage.

Since 1996, Fairfield Outreach & Sponsorship Association (FOSA) has been providing for the needs of orphaned children in the area surrounding the Old Mutare Mission in southeastern Zimbabwe. Though the buildings were dilapidated, the orphanage was home to around 30 children under the age of five who quickly warmed the hearts of the students. After returning home to the US, the students could not

forget the children they met at Fairfield and formed an organization, now known as Fairfield Outreach and Sponsors Association (FOSA) to help meet the needs of the children. After years of growth and maturation, FOSA and Fairfield Children’s Homes have overcome many challenges in the pursuit of providing a loving and family-centered life for the children. In 2004, 12 new homes were completed that created a community of families in which the children have more than excelled. FOSA now helps to support 80 youth, children, toddlers and infants through their post-secondary education. FOSA provides the largest source of funding for the housing, food, education and healthcare needs for these children and the mothers. FOSA is comprised of a diverse volunteer board of directors from across the United States and one part time administrator.
