WMS Volleyball Correction: There will be no Flex Days on June 29th and 30th as originally posted. See the corrected post below.

Attention parents of students interested in participating in Volleyball for WMS next year. There will be Open Gym for all incoming 6th, 7th and 8th grade girls on June 11th, 15th, 16th, 23rd and 25th from 6:00-7:30 in the WMS Gymnasium. This is not mandatory but rather just an opportunity to strengthen skills, condition and get to know the coaches. Official try-outs will be held sometime in August, TBD.

In order to try-out for the team in August, students need to have at least a 2.0 GPA in this past grader period and have a physical completed by a doctor or healthcare provider.

Attention parents of students wanting to play football for WMS: Flex Days will begin on Monday, July 6th and run through August 6th. The Flex Days will be on Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays each week at Jimmy Carey Stadium, from 4:00 to 5:30. Please provide water for your child to drink. Flex Days are not mandatory but will provide your child the opportunity to practice skills, condition and work with the coaches for the upcoming season. This is only for next academic year's 6th, 7th and 8th graders.

Official practice will begin on Monday, August 10th. The time and schedule TBD. However, practices typically run M-F each week. Remember, to be eligible to participate, students must have a minimum of a 2.0 GPA and have a completed physical signed by a doctor and parent/guardian.

Congratulations to 5th Grader Lilly Maruhnich! She won the WV Division of Forestry Arbor Day Poster Contest. Her entry was submitted by art teacher, Mrs. Greathouse. A tree was planted in front of the school to honor Lilly.

Wednesday was the Accelerated Reader Big Event was for students who met their AR goal 2 of the last 3 nine weeks of school. Students enjoyed inflatables, Taters and Brusters food trucks, and various games. We ended
the day with awards for the top reader in each ELA class.

In addition, 2 students went far beyond their goals and racked up over 500 points for the school year. Shout out to Annie Angle 5th grade and Rosalie Perri 6th grade! A fun day was had by all! Special thank you to our the teachers who organized this special event!
