Responsive relationships can help calm stress responses and buffer against sources of stress. But relationships alone aren’t enough—policies and programs that support children and families are essential. A caregiver navigating homelessness, poverty, or climate-driven extreme weather events like flooding and heat waves may experience their own high levels of stress, making it more challenging to provide support for children in their care.

The California Child Care Resource and Referral Network has partnered with the Office of Water Programs (OWP) and the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) to offer FREE water testing for child care centers built BEFORE Jan. 1, 2010.
