The Certified Nurse Assistant program is a 6-unit, 160-hour course.
Students acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for state certification examinations. The current testing facility is located in Redding, CA.
Program Requirements:
• Completion of High School 10th Grade English or higher.
Contact (530) 938-5353 (W**d Campus) or (530) 841-5833 (Yreka Campus) to schedule an appointment with an advisor.
• Successfully complete a background clearance. If you have any pending charges or past convictions, there is a possibility you may be disqualified from the CNA program and from obtaining state licensure.
• Successfully complete a drug screening.
• You must be at least 16 years of age at the time of testing.
• Successfully pass a physical examination. Meet or exceed the minimum health and physical requirements.
• Provide a copy of current immunization records and/or complete the required immunizations for communicable diseases, including 3 doses of Hepatitis B, TDAP, and a TB test prior to attending the program.
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR Card (Basic Life Support, BLS).
• Access to RELIABLE transportation to and from the clinical site.
*Completion of CNA course will be a requirement for future VN programs at COS.
