Incorporate drills that challenge athletes to connect their eyes, feet, and hands—so they can adjust to the ball and prepare for a controlled touch.

See it. Move to it. Control the touch.

This three-exercise circuit helps volleyball players develop lower-body strength, single-leg stability, court movement, and passing control.

* Overhead Squat: Builds total-body strength, shoulder mobility, core stability, and the ability to maintain good posture while playing low.

* Curtsy Bench Step-Ups: Strengthens the glutes, hips, and legs while improving single-leg balance and control—important for jumping, landing, and changing direction.

* Lateral Step-to-Angle Passing: Trains game-like movement by teaching athletes to move laterally, create the correct passing angle, stop under control, and deliver a balanced platform.

Taking 10 minutes during each practice for high-intensity agility work can improve more than physical quickness—it can develop game conditioning, competitive mindset, communication, and team accountability.

The athletes performing the drills learn to:

* Move quickly while tired and under pressure
* React, accelerate, decelerate, and change direction with control
* Maintain effort when a drill becomes uncomfortable
* Practice game-speed focus instead of simply completing reps
* Respond positively to mistakes and immediately prepare for the next play

The partners encouraging them also have an important job. They learn to:

* Communicate with energy and purpose
* Hold teammates accountable
* Recognize when a teammate needs encouragement or a challenge
* Become active leaders even when they are not performing
* Understand that one player’s energy can influence the entire team

This creates a game-like environment: one athlete is competing physically while the partner helps drive the mindset.

3 movements. 3 different demands.

Medicine Ball Slams → Slam to Squat Jump → Single-Leg Slam to Knee Drive.

We’re training athletes to create force, transfer it through the entire body, and finish explosively from two legs and one.

BUILD IT. TRANSFER IT. EXPLODE.
