WATCH D.O.G.S ® (Dads Of Great Students) is a nationally recognized family and community engagement educational initiative with two primary goals:
1. To provide positive male role models (fathers, grandfathers, uncles and other father figures) for students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important.
2. To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.
Since 1998, the Watch D.O.G.S ® program has had a tremendously positive impact on the educational process, providing fathers an opportunity to get a glimpse of their students’ daily life at school and gain a greater awareness of the positive impact they can have on academic performance, self-esteem and social behavior.
During the day, Watch D.O.G.S. may visit block classes (Art, Music, P.E.) with their student, play at recess, help in the cafeteria with lunch, watch the school entrances and hallways, patrol the campus perimeter, assist with traffic flow and any other assigned activities where they can have a positive influence.
If you would like to sign up to be a Watch D.O.G.S. volunteer, please attend the meeting tomorrow at 5:00 pm.

WATCH D.O.G.S.® (Dads Of Great Students) es una iniciativa educativa de participación familiar y comunitaria reconocida a nivel nacional que tiene dos objetivos principales:
1. Ofrecer modelos masculinos positivos (padres, abuelos, tíos y otras figuras paternas) para los estudiantes, demostrando con su presencia que la educación es importante.
2. Proporcionar ojos y oídos adicionales para mejorar la seguridad escolar y reducir el acoso escolar (*bullying*).
Desde 1998, el programa Watch D.O.G.S.® ha tenido un impacto tremendamente positivo en el proceso educativo, brindando a los padres la oportunidad de conocer la vida cotidiana de sus hijos en la escuela y de tomar mayor conciencia del impacto positivo que pueden ejercer en el rendimiento académico, la autoestima y el comportamiento social.
Durante la jornada, los participantes de Watch D.O.G.S. pueden visitar clases especiales (arte, música, educación física) con su estudiante, jugar durante el recreo, ayudar en la cafetería a la hora del almuerzo, vigilar las entradas y los pasillos de la escuela, patrullar el perímetro del plantel, ayudar a gestionar el flujo de tráfico y participar en cualquier otra actividad asignada donde puedan ejercer una influencia positiva.
