Amnesty International-Webster University Webster University's Chapter of Amnesty International

Amnesty International is an International Organization dedicated to promoting and protecting human rights around the world. There are chapters of Amnesty International all around the world, that are working to free political prisoners who are jailed for the non-violent expression of their political views, to promote women's rights, to end the use of torture, and to promote human dignity by ensuring that all people have the economic rights they need to live a life of dignity.

One more day till Write for Rights! Never underestimate the power of letter-writing! Be sure to come join us Dec. 6 in Webster University's East Academic Building for letter writing and free food from The Vine. 12-3pm.

Today, on the 4th anniversary of Nelson Mandela's death, we remember his courage, persistence and generous heart. And we remember the man behind the legend - a man moved by the power of letters to transcend prison walls.
