Good morning! Things are heating up over here at the studio just as it's cooling off outside. This is a new piece I composed titled "Wounded Knee" with a tease of Phish's "Foam" (solo) near the end.

Feel free to contact me here about online lessons via Skype/Zoom or in person at the Webster Groves studio.

Hello and happy Fall (almost)!! Thank you for your patience as I set up my new office off cherokee, re-decorate the Webster Studio, and set up a put put in the yard. Meanwhile, feel free to inquire about both online & in-person lessons. Here's a snip of George Gershwin's "Someone to Watch Over Me" for your weekend evening.
Thank You,
Patrick

Working as a session player in New York City after college was an eye opening experience to say the least. In a city where the music industry alone brought more revenue than most of St. Louis' fortune 500 companies, the level of musicianship was second to none among the bands and artists playing the clubs in Brooklyn, the Lower East Side, East, & West Village at the time. Not only that, but the level of professionalism was new to me. Here's a demo video from back then.

Although I majored in Music Education through the majority of my college career, I opted to get a bachelor of arts in music vs school teacher certification. I knew I was moving to New York or San Francisco immediately after graduation to continue playing with artists as a session player at night while teaching piano during the day as I already had been for 5+ years at that point. Even though I had piano lessons in grade school and played as much as I could when I had the chance, studying with Carol Beth True at Webster University was a huge influence on playing. I started taking my practice sessions more seriously and began the never ending journey into the endless greatness of 1950s/early 1960's bebop and hard bop.
