Iowa State University Extension and Outreach – Hamilton County is seeking a dynamic and motivated 4-H County Youth Coordinator to lead and strengthen the county's 4-H Youth Development program. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about youth development, enjoys building relationships with volunteers and community partners, and excels at planning engaging educational programs and events.
As the Youth Coordinator, you will work alongside dedicated volunteers, 4-H families, community leaders, and Extension staff to create meaningful opportunities that help young people develop leadership, life skills, and a sense of belonging. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact in Hamilton County while growing your own professional skills in program leadership, community engagement, and volunteer development.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

⏰ Position: Full-Time (40 hours/week)

Are you interested in gardening, community service, and lifelong learning? If yes, become an Iowa Master Gardener this fall! Applications for Garden Academy are open through August 14th. To earn the active Iowa Master Gardener title, trainees must:

-Complete the SmartSheet application
-Be accepted and register through their county office
-Successfully complete a background check
-Complete both the online Garden Academy training and county-specific in-person volunteer orientation
-Complete a pre-course evaluation and pass the final exam with a grade of 70% or greater
-Complete a 40-hour volunteer internship within one year
