This crew woke early this morning to work our table at WEBB CITY’s Back-to-school OPENING DAY!! We are so thankful to our amazing faculty who work hard all day giving from their heart AND also willing to give from their bank account. THEY ARE THE BEST!!

𝐅𝐨𝐫 30 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬, the Webb City School District has been incredibly fortunate to have one very special person welcoming everyone through the doors of Central Office.

𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐰𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐫, 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐖𝐞𝐛𝐛 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬! In her 30 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 at Central Office, she has worked alongside four superintendents, witnessed countless changes, and somehow managed to remember an insanely impressive amount of Webb City School District history. If you ever have a question about “the way things used to be,” there’s a very good chance she knows the answer!

She is the first face our community, parents, and staff see when they walk through the Central Office doors, and she makes sure everyone feels welcome. She’s also famously the first one to the office every morning, is always willing to lend a hand, and jumps in to help wherever she can.

And while she absolutely HATES having her picture taken, we couldn’t let this milestone pass without making her endure at least a little celebration!

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐝𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞, 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤, 𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥. But more than all of that, she is simply one of the best humans you could ever meet. We are so incredibly lucky to have her as part of the Webb City School District family.

We had the great privilege of inducting Teddy into the Webb City R-VII’s Hall of Fame this last year. The impact she made in the lives of so many is extraordinary. Countless individuals and their families will be forever grateful for her legacy of redemption, recovery and hope.

Please join us in praying for her loved ones and The ROCC at this time of loss.

It is with very heavy hearts that we share the passing of our founder and Executive Director, Teddy Steen.

Teddy was the heart of The ROCC and ASCENT. She built this organization with fierce love, deep conviction, and an unwavering belief in people and the power of recovery. She showed up every day with honesty, humor, and a kind of courage that could not be taught.

To know Teddy was to be encouraged, challenged, and cared for all at once. She celebrated others loudly, told the truth when it mattered, and never stopped fighting for the mission she believed in. Her impact on this community, and on each of us personally, is immeasurable.

We are devastated by this loss, and we know many of you are too. While our hearts are heavy, we are committed to honoring Teddy by continuing the work she started and carrying her vision forward.

We ask for your prayers, love, and patience for her family, our staff, and all those grieving her deeply.

It is with the heaviest of hearts, that we mourn the passing of Dr. Ronald Lankford.

Dr. Lankford was an extraordinary educator, devoted friend, and unwavering champion for the children of our community. As the founder of the WCR7 Schools Foundation, he created a legacy rooted in service, vision, and a deep belief in the power of public education. Throughout his life, he tirelessly advocated for what was best for students, a commitment reflected in his esteemed career with the Webb City School District and his continued work with the Foundation—a mission from which he never retired.

Dr. Lankford was honored as one of our Distinguished Citizens and, alongside his wife Carolyn, established the Continuing the American Dream Scholarship, creating opportunities that will impact students for generations. His priorities were clear—faith, family, and education—and he lived those values every day.

An incredible historian, Dr. Lankford shared countless stories that not only preserved the rich history of our community but also revealed the genuine care, respect, and appreciation he had for the people whose lives he touched. His impact on Webb City will continue to be felt for generations

Rest easy in the arms of your Savior, Dr. Lankford. Thank you for being an extraordinary example to so many and for leading with wisdom, humility, and grace.

The Webb City R-7 Schools Foundation is profoundly grateful for the brave men and women who gave their lives for our freedom. Their sacrifice reminds us of the INCREDIBLE PRICE OF OUR FREEDOM. Thank you to all our fallen heroes and their families—your legacy is never forgotten.

This next Monday, May 4th, is Webb City's annual Senior Awards Night where we will present well over $125,000 in district and local community scholarships to graduating seniors. This number does NOT include scholarships from colleges/universities or tuition paid for by Missouri state programs. What a blessing for our seniors and the families in our community! This is why we are here. This is what we do!
