Hey alumni, do you recognize any of these lovely HOCO queens? New royalty will be crowned this Friday evening at John Roderique Field at approximately 6:30 PM!

As we celebrate 150 years of Webb City Schools, we’re taking a look back at a tradition that has been part of Cardinal history for generations!

In 1940, a ticket sale was launched at the beginning of football season. To help generate excitement, a contest was held among senior girls to elect a queen—with the winner chosen based on ticket sales.

While the times—and certainly the selection process—have changed, the excitement surrounding the crowning of our queens throughout the school year has remained. It continues to be a highly anticipated tradition each year for our students, families, alumni, and community.

Enjoy this look back at some of our Queens from the Past!

We had the great privilege of inducting Teddy into the Webb City R-VII’s Hall of Fame this last year. The impact she made in the lives of so many is extraordinary. Countless individuals and their families will be forever grateful for her legacy of redemption, recovery and hope.

Please join us in praying for her loved ones and The ROCC at this time of loss.

It is with very heavy hearts that we share the passing of our founder and Executive Director, Teddy Steen.

Teddy was the heart of The ROCC and ASCENT. She built this organization with fierce love, deep conviction, and an unwavering belief in people and the power of recovery. She showed up every day with honesty, humor, and a kind of courage that could not be taught.

To know Teddy was to be encouraged, challenged, and cared for all at once. She celebrated others loudly, told the truth when it mattered, and never stopped fighting for the mission she believed in. Her impact on this community, and on each of us personally, is immeasurable.

We are devastated by this loss, and we know many of you are too. While our hearts are heavy, we are committed to honoring Teddy by continuing the work she started and carrying her vision forward.

We ask for your prayers, love, and patience for her family, our staff, and all those grieving her deeply.

If Teddy touched your life in any way, we’d love to hear those stories below. 💙
