Webb City High School Art students took a trip to Crystal Bridges. We got to view private collections of artwork by Kaws. Last Friday some high school art students got to visit Pitt State art department. Students were so excited to tour a collegiate art classrooms, view their on campus gallery (Fiber artist! šŸ˜), meet professors and teachers, and talk to current art students- they loved it! We also had the opportunity to create sketchbooks in a hands on Workshop. These students were so fun! And we all came away energized and excited to create!

Our high schoolers rocked it at the COC Art Competition! We have multiple ribbon winners and one of very own received the Teacherā€™s Choice Award for 2D Work! What an honor! We are so proud of our talented, hard working students. If you know any of them, give them a shout out! This display will be up in the high school main hall way for the next few weeks. Stop by if you can!

Artwork from many Webb City art students will be on display at the Missouri Southern State University Spiva Gallery in Joplin, Missouri. This artwork is part of a Kindergarten-Twelfth Grade show that is selected and hung by participating art educators in the MAEA District 9 area. Artwork will be in the gallery until Jan 16.
An Artist Reception will be held this Sunday, Jan 14 to celebrate these students and give them the opportunity to show work to family and friends. This is a great honor and is the most highly attended show that the MSSU gallery holds. We hope you can make it out to support them!
ARTIST RECEPTION:
Sunday, January 14
1:00-2:30 pm for Kindergarten through 6th grade
2:30-4:00 pm for 7th-12th grade
Light snacks will be provided
Teachers of each school will also be present
OTHER GALLERY HOURS:
Monday-Friday 9:00 am-5:00 pm
**Parking is available behind the building on the Northwest corner of Newman and Duquesne Roads. Or you can park in the big parking lot in front of Webster Hall.

10/18 7th - 12th Grade

AND... NO SCHOOL for students on Thursday, October 19 (this is a previously scheduled staff in-service day) and NO SCHOOL on Friday, October 20 district-wide.
