We are saddened to hear about the passing of Dolly Parton earlier today. While her remarkable contributions to music and American culture will be remembered for generations, Dolly’s commitment to early literacy created an equally meaningful legacy for children and families nationwide.

Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, thousands of books have made their way into the homes of young children in Trinity County. In the past two years alone, 3,253 books have been delivered locally, helping families build home libraries and encouraging a love of reading from an early age.

We are grateful for Dolly Parton’s extraordinary commitment to children and literacy. Her investment in young readers will continue to make a difference in Trinity County and communities worldwide for generations to come.

If Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has touched your family, we invite you to share a favorite book or memory in the comments as we celebrate the lasting impact of her commitment to young readers.
