Mrs. Lawing’s science classes are exploring the science of heat conduction with a hands-on experiment! Students are comparing metal, plastic, and wooden spoons to see how quickly heat travels through different materials by observing how fast a butter cube melts. 🥄🔥

Through making observations, recording data, and drawing conclusions, students are putting their scientific thinking skills to work while discovering how different materials transfer heat.

Who knew a little butter could teach us so much science?! 🧈👏

Ms. Teague’s classes have been working together in groups on research projects exploring Native American cultural regions. Students are learning about the land, natural resources, housing, and people of different regions while building their research and collaboration skills.

With the help of Ms. Brillisour, students are learning about the research process in the library, including how to gather information, organize their findings, and work together to deepen their understanding. We love seeing our Blackhawks grow as curious, confident researchers!

Congratulations to our Monthly Hawks Bucks Raffle Winners! Our students are putting their Hawks Bucks to good use! Students can use their hard-earned Hawks Bucks to enter our monthly raffle during the PBIS Assembly for a chance to win an awesome 3D-printed creation made by Mr. Thompson in STEM! A huge thank-you to Mr. Thompson for creating such cool prizes for our students!

Creativity is taking center stage in 6th grade! Our students are creating their own fantasy maps using coffee paint, rice, symbols, and alliteration to bring their imaginative worlds to life. 🌎🎨 Each map is a unique work of expression, showcasing their creativity, storytelling, and individuality. We love seeing our students think outside the box and turn their ideas into something amazing!
