October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to stand together in support of survivors and to shine a light on the importance of safe, healthy relationships. At HRN, we are committed to raising awareness and offering hope, resources, and solidarity to those impacted by domestic violence.

One way we’re inviting the community to join us is through our Purple Porch Project - a simple yet powerful act of lighting up your porch with purple to show support for survivors and to spark important conversations.

Throughout the month, HRN will be handing out free purple light bulbs at our community tabling events. By placing one in your porch light, you can make a visible statement that domestic violence has no place in our communities and that survivors are not alone.

💜 Domestic Violence Awareness Month💜

Today marks the beginning of Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) — a time to raise awareness, honor survivors, remember those whose lives have been impacted by domestic violence, and reaffirm our commitment to building safer, healthier communities.

Throughout October, HRN will be participating in DVAM by helping shine a light on the realities of domestic violence, sharing resources and information, uplifting survivor voices, and encouraging our community to recognize that everyone deserves to live free from fear, control, and abuse.

Domestic violence can affect anyone, regardless of age, background, gender, or circumstance. Awareness is an important first step toward prevention, support, and change.

💜 This month, we stand with survivors.
💜 We remember those we have lost.
💜 We support those seeking safety.
💜 And we work toward a community where everyone can feel safe and supported.
