Usually you think of heirlooms as things, valued either intrinsically or as inspiration of generational family lore. One lady changed my concept of family heirlooms when I delivered Meals-on-Wheels as a member of Rotary.
After I introduce the amazing Mrs. K. who forever changed the way I define heirlooms, I hope you discover someone in your life who fills your heart the way she did.

Horses make us laugh, frustrate and delight us, break our hearts, teach us to be honest and simple, and make our world bigger because God gave them to us as a gift. Although my inner critic just reminded me that horses were here before we were. I know ponies ask for little girls to love them, maybe horses asked for us? It's a thought.
If your horse placed an order for a custom-designed person, are you the perfect fit or your horse's biggest challenge?

I shared this so I could tell a story on a wonderful 3-year old horse I bred and trained that's seems far worse to me than not catching a pony when the farrier's waiting.
A prospective buyer came to try him out in the early evening. He had ZERO bad habits and never bucked once in his life or even registered a significant objection to anything. He was on the way to becoming (which he did) a successful non-pro reiner.
During her trial ride he bucked. Not big, but it was definitely a buck. Thankfully the rider was skilled and it wasn't eventful.
But, there's no way to say, "He's never done anything like that before" that's believable. I felt like a smarmy horse trader even though it was 100% true.
She didn't buy him and I learned a lesson.
Never show a horse at a time of day it hasn't been ridden before.
What's your worst pony headache?

There's something similar about collection and walking with Christ. The stronger the source the greater the power!

Who would you rather spend the day with, someone who critiques your every word and movement or someone who invites you to celebrate the morning and for making it to dinner time without dialing 911? The more your horse delights in time with you the more you enjoy your horse. Let me share ways to make that dream your reality.
