The Weatherford College International Piano Competition was pleased to meet with Jacques Marquis, President & CEO of The Cliburn, for a dynamic exchange of ideas on music, competitions, and community.

A special thank you to Maestro John Giordano, who served as Chairman of The Cliburn Jury for 40 years and now serves on the WCIPC Advisory Board, for bringing this meaningful conversation together and for his support.

WCIPC is proud to be part of a growing international network dedicated to creating meaningful opportunities for young pianists around the world.

Jamie and Michael’s connection with WCIPC has grown far beyond the competition itself. They not only take great joy in staying connected with the pianist they hosted, 2026 First Prize Winner Korkmaz Can Saglam, but also continue to support and encourage him as if he were their own.

Recently, they shared a heartfelt vision with our director, Dr. Hyeyoung Song: that in future years, they hope to extend their hospitality not only to our pianists, but also to our esteemed judges. This initiative beautifully reflects the spirit of WCIPC fostering lasting connections among music, people, and community.
