SWOSU Rural Health Center has new funding to help put practical health resources directly into rural communities! The microgrant will help bring health education, screenings, wellness kits, and a mobile resource van to Roger Mills and Wash*ta counties, giving families and local partners more support closer to home.

We’re grateful to see this work grow in a way that directly supports families and community partners across western Oklahoma. 💙

🌟 Community Partnership Highlight 🌟

Today our team at Southwestern Oklahoma State University College of Pharmacy is providing blood glucose screenings and diabetes risk assessments at the Back to School event in Cordell to assist in recruiting for the new Diabetes Prevention Program cohort in Wash*ta county! 🗺️

This is a new collaboration between SWOSU and Cordell Memorial Hospital in coordination with their Community Health Worker certified as a lifestyle coach. 📝

Special thanks to our student pharmacist Hannah Allen & Oklahoma Foundation for Medical Quality for providing hands-on learning and community service opportunities!

👋 Big Welcome to our new neighbors on the Hilltop at Southwestern Oklahoma State University 🏫

Beginning August 27th, our Weatherford Custer County Health Department location will be open within The Jerry & Margaret Hodge Center for Pharmacy and Rural Health! ⏰

More information to come on hours, access, and separate entrance and parking lot for patients located off Caddo street directing them to the Northeast back doors for services!! 🗺️

🚨🚨 We have BIG news!!! 🚨🚨

Our Custer County Health Department in Weatherford will soon have a new location. We are moving to the hilltop, the Weatherford clinic will be located at the SWOSU campus. The Jerry & Margaret Hodge Center for Pharmacy & Rural Health building will be our new home.

📅In preparation for the move the Weatherford clinic will be closed August 24-26. We will begin seeing clients at the new location effective Thursday, August 27th at 8 a.m.

🗺️Find us at the intersection of Davis & Caddo, our entry doors are located on the east side of the building.

Southwestern Oklahoma State University

SWOSU was delighted recently to host Oklahoma's Speaker Pro Tempore Anthony Moore for a visit to the Jerry & Margaret Hodge Center for Rural Health. Moore, who represents SWOSU in the Oklahoma House of Representatives, has been an instrumental partner to SWOSU in securing support for the Center's establishment and operations.

Pictured sharing information with Moore on the Center's work to produce more Pharmacists and to deliver needed services to rural healthcare providers throughout Oklahoma are: SWOSU Vice President for Administration & Finance Ms. Lori Boyd; SWOSU President Dr. Joel Kendall; Moore; SWOSU Center for Rural Health Director Dr. Kalie Kerth; and SWOSU College of Pharmacy Dean Dr. Les Ramos.
