GISD Law Enforcement Practicum Students Eli B. & Wyatt D. had another awesome job shadowing experience with Parker County Constable's Office Pct 2! They assisted with an Eviction, observed court proceedings, met our Texas Ranger J. Espinoza & enjoyed lunch with Joe Harris Jr. & his Team, and got to ride-along with Dep. Constables, B.j. Sharp & M. Ingram! What an experience! THANK YOU! We appreciate your partnership in promoting the Law Enforcement Profession & we're Grateful for the time you pour into our students!🤘🏼

Late Post: We ended our Advanced Law Enforcement class last year with *Tactical Entries*... so OF COURSE we had to go all out! We took over the Admin Office/House & had a Nerf Gel Blaster war, while learning valuable LE entry skills. Our Law I class voted for Beau L. to represent & join the training exercise. SWAT member, Deputy J. Turner from PCSO, headed up the "training", while Mr. Carlton & Mr. Autry were role players in the scenarios. Thank you again, Dep. 🌟Brayden Thompson🌟 was awarded GISD Law Enforcement Student of the Month- our 1st ever! Brayden is an exemplary LE student, always engaging in class discussion & willing to speak up about his feelings/opinions on law related topics. He works well with all our other students & enjoys learning the different aspects of this profession. Brayden had *Coffee with a Cop* with Assistant Chief J. Hamscher, from Mineral Wells Police Department. He brought Brayden his favorite coffee from SevenBrews & cinnamon rolls. While here, Asst. Chief Hamscher met with all our LE students, giving great insight into his 19+ year career, while answering some excellent questions. Thank you Asst. Chief for your service to this amazing profession! We appreciate your time, mentorship & engagement with our students, especially Brayden! Our Law Enforcement Practicum Students, Wyatt D. & Eli B., got a hands-on look at the civil side of Law Enforcement during a ride-along/job-shadowing experience. From learning about Civil Process to learning Tactical Entry & Building Clearing techniques—it was a day packed with learning & excitement!

Constable Harris & his team even treated the students to lunch and answered all their questions. His passion for School Safety and mentoring the next generation of LEOs is truly inspiring!

Our Law Enforcement students had the rare & amazing opportunity to visit the Bob Bolen Public Safety Complex—Fort Worth Police Department’s premier training facility! From the state-of-the-art facilities to the dedicated staff, cadets, & officers, every aspect of the visit left a lasting impression on our students.

A special thank-you to Officer "Buddy" & every FWPD team member who took the time to engage with our students. Their kindness, professionalism, & genuine passion for public safety made this a truly inspiring & educational experience.

We’re grateful for FWPD’s partnership with our Law Enforcement CTE classes & look forward to more incredible opportunities ahead!

A Day in the Field!👮🏻🚓

Eli B. & Wyatt D., GISD Law Enforcement Practicum students, spent an exciting & informative day job-shadowing at the Mineral Wells Police Department. Their visit included time with various divisions such as Patrol, Criminal Investigations (CID), and Administration, offering them a comprehensive look at daily law enforcement operations.

The experience was a BLAST for both students- to top it off, they were recognized at tonight’s Mineral Wells City Council meeting!

A huge thank you to the Mineral Wells Police Department & Chief Denison for your partnership and commitment to shaping the next generation of public safety professionals. We are excited for what the future holds!🤘🏻

⭐Parents & Community Members: Our Law Enforcement CTE classes are gearing up for some fun, hands-on Field Trips in the coming weeks! Our school is classified as a Community Eligibility Provision (C.E.P.) campus & we want EVERY student to have the opportunity for these experiences! Lots of Hands-On learning as we wrapped up our Traffic Stop Unit w/ *mock traffic stops*. These were staged in the parking lot; students got to sit in the driver's seat of the units while talking to "dispatch" on their own walkie-talkies. We wanted it to be as real as possible!🤘🏻Our LE Students did GREAT with it all - radio etiquette/traffic, 7-step violator contact, dispatch duties, checking license plates & Drivers Licenses and so much more! Big Thanks to all our staff members that volunteered to be drivers-good job with the crazy, sometimes "non-compliant" scenarios! Our LE students took full advantage of the "Careers On Wheels Day", designed for our younger students! They met with the Parker County Medical Examiner's Office, our Parker County SWAT Team & PCSO SRO Division Supervisors. Lots of cool stuff to look at & the students asked GREAT questions!
