Optmist Sports Club will have a 3rd/4th & 5th/6th grade tackle football teams if enough players signup. We will need at least 20 players per age group to complete a team. Signup link is up at www.optimistsportsclub.com (If we do not have enough to form teams you will be guaranteed a refund or the option to play in the flag program at that cost difference).

Tackle is a TRAVEL LEAGUE so please keep that in mind when signing up, games to be played in the following towns.

Hello Parents.. Great news!! The Weatherford Optimist Club Football/Cheer program is being transferred to Optimist Sports Club founded by Mike Hilburn, this is an absolute positive path for the program and for your athletes!

Please see the following announcement about the upcoming season and how to register your athletes.

For those of you that don’t know me my name Is Mike Hilburn, i have been helping Mike Martin and the Weatherford Optimist Club Board of directors, with The Weatherford Optimist Club flag football program since 2017.

I’m very happy to announce that i will be taking over the program, but under a New Platform called “Optimist Sports Academy” ThIS PROGRAM WILL NOT BE ASSOCIATED WITH WEATHERFORD OPTIMIST CLUB. However it will not change, other than a few minor rule changes here and there.

All FLAG GAMES are canceled for October 28th!! Stay safe everyone.

Update for tomorrow (October 28th) with the possibility of pouring rain tomorrow morning.

I will just gauge it at 6am/7am in the morning.

If it’s light rain that games can be played in, then we will play at scheduled times.

If it’s raining a good amount that is unsafe for kids to be in on a turf field then we will cancel the day.

Attention Optimist Families

Child Safety is Optimist Clubs top priority. And one of the things we do to ensure their safety is make sure every adult on the field has a background check. Once the background check is passed and complete, we issue coaches & volunteers their badges.
Coaches (football & cheer) and referees are the only ones allowed on the field with the players and cheerleaders. Anyone that enters the track or field that does not have a badge will be asked to go back to their seats.
If that person continues to enter the track or field, you will be asked to leave the premises. If the same person enters the track or field a third time, you will be banned from the premises.
Please know this is for the kids safety. These have been Optimist Football/Cheer procedures for years and we will continue to follow these rules.
