There are many "warning signs" parents may encounter on the academic journey. Of course, some of these are more serious than others and need digging into quickly. However, If you see more than 1 of these signs, you might want to talk to the teacher, or the counselor at school, for some more guidance. ββββββββ

I can say from experience, it's never fun watching your child work through any one of these. ββββββββ

Course Questionnaire: Student Essentials This won't take long, and I really appreciate your input!
Did you know....
There are 3οΈβ£ main learning styles?
I'll admit, others will say there are more but in all my years of working with students, I have found it comes down to the basic 3!
Which one does your child fall into?
Head to my bio for the quiz π (link) or go to www.thesavvystudent.net to find out your child's secret success ingredient (learning style).
βοΈ Every child learns differently, so it's important to know HOW your child's brain likes to learn.
Knowing this information (most likely not taught in your school system) can help your child know which learning strategies to utilize, be more efficient, more productive, and raise grades π.
Who doesn't like that?
Hope this helps!

π WOW! WOW! WOW!ββββββββ
ββββββββ
I am beyond thankful and grateful to win this award!ββββββββ
ββββββββ
Three years ago at a Gateway Conference, God put The Savvy Student, LLC on my heart. I remember sitting down in a quiet area for 2 hours doing a brain dump of all the thoughts flooding my mind. At the time, I had no idea how I was going to make this idea come to life. All I knew was that God showed me a direction, and I listened.ββββββββ
ββββββββ
Over the past several years, The Savvy Student, LLC has helped so many students from many different school districts and private schools. I have loved watching all of the students evolve into better students! In addition, many students have soared after implementing the strategies they have learned during the Study Skills Program. These eager students are not only earning better grades but also building a wonderful resume for their college/ trade school applications! ββββββββ
ββββββββ
As always, if you know of a student that is struggling in school or a parent looking for help, feel free to tag them (or DM them) my information. ββββββββ
ββββββββ
Again, THANK YOU for your trust with your student(s).ββββββββ

Active Listening/ Active Listener ...ββββββββ
ββββββββ
Active listening is a term used to describe a practice of someone who is tuned in fully and receiving the information being given. ββββββββ
ββββββββ
A student who is an active listener is typically very noticeable. ββββββββ
ββββββββ
3 Body Language Cues Of An Active Listener:ββββββββ
ββββββββ
1. Sitting up in the chairββββββββ
2. Nodding in agreement or making head gesturesββββββββ
3. Has expression ββββββββ
ββββββββ
Since simply attending class is a very passive learning activity, it is extremely important to be an active listener to gain as much information as possible.ββββββββ

πExcited To Help!
I love that the Youth Director, Callie, reached out to me asking if I could share some study tips with the youth at Couts United Methodist Church!
Yes! Yes! & Yes!
God gave me insight into this need several years ago, and we have been marching forward ever since.
Students are struggling and lacking these critical skills! I have helped students from 4th grade through college level, and they have all walked away with numerous tips and strategies that they had not been taught before. ππ»ππ»ππ»
Success!!!
Itβs truly my pleasure to help provide students with these strategies!

Crush This School Year!ββββββββ
ββββββββ
Crushing the year involves 2 parts:ββββββββ
ββββββββ

An Easy Way To....
π― Boost Productivity:
1. Clean your study area
2. Go for a walk before starting
3. Eat a healthy snack after school
4. Drink more water throughout the day
5. Take a 15 minute power nap
6. Cut back sugar to avoid the sugar highs and lows
7. Take a break every 30 minutes
8. Include high-achieving activities
9. Prioritize the tasks
10. Listen to motivational music
11. Study effectively
12. Avoid distractions
We all get into the mindset of "just get it finished" from time to time. However, when we are simply going through the motions and rushing through the task at hand, productivity usually suffers.
β¬οΈβ¬οΈβ¬οΈβ¬οΈ
In contrast, if we take a few minutes to prepare our minds and plan the study session, the outcome is usually a desirable one. Productivity increases and retention is much better. π
Give these a try and let me know what you think.

Let's Celebrate Moments, Shall We?
Learning is full of ups and downsβ¦
Sometimes we get it; sometimes we don't.
Hey, that's what keeps it....spicy, right? (I hear my kiddos coming out in me!π€£)
When we do get "it"....
It's important that we stop, take a minute, and sit with that awesome victory feeling! While you're at it... pat yourself on the back or go high-five a friend! π
Enjoy the victories along the way!

π―%! Unstructured play is essential for kiddos!!
What was your favorite thing to do/play as a kid? I loved to play in the woods! π€·ββοΈπ€£ Hide-n-seek and building forts were on the top of the list. Who knows how I never had a snake bite!
Summertime Solutions: The Benefits of Unstructured Play | Parentingβ¦ Feel free to shed the guilt of creating the βperfect summer.β Research shows that unstructured play is one of the best ways to help your kids learn and grow during the summer months.
WPL is extremely pleased to introduce...the new Love Street Story Path at Love Street Park!! As you walk, you will see pages from a story installed along the trail. By the time you complete a lap, you will get the entire story. Some pages have bonus activities to do between stations, and the stories will be changed out regularly--so bring the kids and walk often!
We would like to give big thanks to the Weatherford Parks, Recreation, and Special Events Department for allowing us to add this park feature, for installing the story stations, and for help getting the first story ready to go (Tyler Herndon!).
This project is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services and Texas State Library and Archives Commission (Grant # TXR-22006).* (2022)

School Routine...ββββββββ
ββββββββ
A routine is always the best approach to accomplishing more instead of just "going with the flow."ββββββββ
ββββββββ
I always tell my student to grab a snack and take 30 minutes to relax and reset. Then, get busy. πββββββββ
ββββββββ
Study time AND homework time should be part of the evening routine. These two things accomplish different goals after school; therefore, both are needed.π―% Study time is working on the hardest subject by reworking notes into a different format, making flashcards, outlining a chapter for deeper comprehension and so forth. Homework time is simply doing what the teacher has assigned.ββββββββ
