Love It or Leave It🛷❓

We are a LOVE IT ❄️ kind of family for sure!

We binged Bodyguard (good one!), played endless games of Mexican Train and Kings, played in the snow, and had cozy fires!

💕Extra Bonus: My mom came and stayed with us during the snow storm since her neighborhood usually loses power.

Oh and Charlie carried the sled up the hill for us🤣 but refused to take a ride!

Great times!

🙋‍♀️We’ve All Been There…

As parents, sometimes it feels like we are banging our head against the wall 😖 trying to get our kiddo to see the importance of studying and raising grades.

➡️You ask over and over about studying, and your child simply looks up and says, “I’m good!”

(As if a miracle is going to happen and the grades will instantly be raised 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️.)

That kind of payoff is simply spectacular for everyone!

Story Time:

A 9th grader was frustrated by the grades he was earning in school. *The student* wanted to start receiving good grades consistently to impact his overall GPA. (The fact that HE was already thinking about college applications stole my heart!🎉)

Soooo….

I did a deep dive with him to see what study skills and systems he already had in place.

Then, I equipped him with the skills he didn’t have, helped him dial in on his study habits, and we set up systems for consistency.

Below are some systems you should have in place to help raise grades and calm the chaos:

1. Put study systems/routines in place.
2. Create weekly study plans.
3. Do nightly recaps.
4. Identify distractions.
5. Celebrate wins.
6. Create a distraction free study space.
7. Check study planner nightly.
8. Explain GPA importance.
9. Discuss high achieving habits.
10. Model success behaviors.
