Prof Salmans was delighted to once again share an annual Oktoberfest lunch with the Elementary German 1 students!

This year, the students requested knödel, gebrannte mandeln, and bratwurst. There were also pretzel sliders, roast chicken, rotkraut, and apples with caramel sauce. To drink? Apfelschorle!

Well, we *tried* to make Spaghettieis in my Elementary German I class today but the ice cream press bent, so we had to settle for our own loose interpretation 😂

Truly thankful and incredibly charmed by the generosity of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Washington for the materials and small gifts they sent for our German students. I was blown away by the maps, flags, books, posters and more. I think the best part of all of the packages was definitely the Diplomatic Gummibärchen 😍
