We are so thankful for the opportunity to continue working with Weatherford Christian School!!
Through a partnership with Dyson Educational Services, Weatherford Christian School is excited to offer an Academic Lab for our Secondary students who may need some extra support. We have worked with the amazing Kamie Stover with Dyson Educational Services for the past 3 years supporting Elementary students needing help with dyslexia and reading difficulties.
The Academic Lab will offer Secondary students a quiet place to test, provide accommodation assistance, document accommodations for SAT needs, offer small group reteachs, offer organizational / study skills assistance, be available for homework assistance, teach students self advocacy skills, provide bi-weekly grade check-ins, and serve as a support resource for parents.
Any Secondary student may enroll but there is a limit so please reach out to --

💙Introducing Mr. Charles Blackwell, M.Ed, Educational Diagnostician --
"Every student can learn, it is my job to figure out how to make that happen."
Mr. Blackwell has been a career educator for 32 years and is so very excited for this opportunity to work with our children. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1990 with a Bachelors of Science in Education. While working as a teacher and counselor at Salesmanship Club Youth Camp in Lufkin (a residential facility for teens with emotional disturbance) for 7 years, he truly fell in love with special education and differentiated instruction.
Mr. Blackwell earned a Masters of Special Education and Educational Diagnostician Certification from The University of Texas at Tyler in 1999. Taking his love of Special Education and all the tools that a Diag has, this was a natural fit. He is able to assess students and investigate how the brain worked for them and what accommodations might best help them be successful. In 2005, he moved to Weatherford with his wife, Kristi, and their three children.
WCS is thrilled to offer this additional support for our students. Welcome to Mr. Blackwell and an continued "thank you' to Mrs. Stover! 💙🦁
