As the Waynesville Career Center kicks off the 26-27 school year. Students are stepping into a new year of hands on learning, skill development, and new opportunities to prepare for future careers.

In an effort to promote our Students into Real World Learning Roles and On the Job Training, WCC will have a Student Intern. This is in a direct correlation with the Waynesville R-VI School District CSIP or Comprehensive School Improvement Plan and WCC's BSIP or Building School Improvement Plan. This part of the plan (BSIP 1.2.01) calls for College and Career Readiness and for the students to obtain a MVA or Market Value Asset.

We are proud to introduce Kaleyah Buttner as our 2026-2027 WCC Intern. She will play a major role in the promotion of all WCC programs through Phtography & Social Media. Kaleyah is a Senior at Waynesville High School and is a part of Mrs. Poole's Communication Courses. In her own words: "I have been interested in photography since I was in sixth grade, and I have loved capturing memories ever since. During my sophomore year, I joined the yearbook staff, where I learned more about editing content and putting pictures together to tell a story. Photography has helped me become more creative and see things from different perspectives. After graduating high school, I plan to join the Army, although I have not decided on my MOS yet. I’m excited to see where the future takes me and to continue growing my multimedia production skills along the way!"

As we get ready to start the year. WCC would like to congratulate our very own Mrs. Emily Barnes as the Waynesville R-VI School District Rising Star Recipient. This award goes to an outstanding Educator in their first 5 years. Mrs. Barnes is the Agriculture Teacher and FFA Sponsor, who begins her 6th year in education.

Very proud of Waynesville HS JROTC for continuing the tradition of the best Color Guard presenting the colors at the annual Missouri Association of Career and Technology Education Conference (MOACTE). Thank you to these students for sacrificing a summer day to present.
