🍦 What a sweet day in Pre-K! 🍎

We painted our very own ice cream, traced and dotted our Ii, and rotated through centers working on matching uppercase and lowercase letters, matching letters in the basket to the correct apples, tracing our names, and putting our name puzzles together! ✏️🧩

This afternoon, we learned sign language for different types of weather 🌞🌧️ and brought out the measuring tapes to measure different things around our classroom—including ourselves! 📏

We had a fun-filled day of learning, exploring, and building new skills! ❤️🍦

Our letter hats are always a hit!
Flashlight letter hunt, writing letters in sand, counting items, tracing numbers, Pete the Cat - 5 little pumpkins, coloring, and cutting craft, afternoon, math with pop its and a ghost game.
I is for idea handprint craft 😁We did the 💀 skeleton shake dance. We also practiced drawing a person and gave them spiky hair to cut for scissor practice this afternoon.
We listened to a weather sign language song and did the signing while singing.

Iguanas, ice cream shop, don’t break the ice game, counting links on ice cream cones, cutting and putting numbers in order on pumpkins, sorting numbers, and searching for letter i in books.
This afternoon we worked on fine motor centers, practiced counting to 10 in Spanish, reviewed how to say hello good morning in Spanish, and our new color is verde (green).

Today we were busy working on letter I!!

We painted igloos using Lego’s!
Read Curious George Builds an Igloo! ❄️
Went on an insect hunt!
Constructed our own insect grass area!
Worked on math by voting on our favorite insect and counting each group!! 🐛 🐞 🐜
We finished the afternoon by reading Spinderella and adding our own ants to a web! 🕷️ 🕸️

Happy birthday 4th bday Landon 🥳
We listened to a story about a pumpkin’s lifecycle and practiced with story pieces.
Talked about short I and long I words. We wrote our names  on an ice cream chart under vanilla and chocolate. Practiced writing number 4. This afternoon for science ,we had an insect hunt and put them on a chart. We compared their features same / different. We picked our favorite insect. We made an insect art and used some fake insects to do a painting on a spiderweb.
We also practiced our letter sounds and recognition with PBS games online.

Today we made “T” crowns, for our THREE year olds but majority of our time today was spent on working our fine motor skills!! Picking tape off the table and using our fingers to roll it into a ball, putting pipe cleaners throw strainer holes, using our favorite sensory bins, rolling playdoh, circling the first letter of our name and using clothes pins to match the letters of our name! 😚

Fine motor skills are essential in preschool because finger strength and hand eye coordination enable children to hold writing tools, form basic shapes and letters, use scissors, and turn pages in books! 📚✂️✏️

Fall trees, tracing triangles, painting turkeys, counting blocks with numbers, tea parties, tunnels-turtles-tool toss obstacle course, and building things from different materials that start with T. The older kids were able to build CVC words with our crayon kits this afternoon. Way to go 🤩
