🎉 Career Exploration in Action at GCCTC! 🎉

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming all 6th-grade students and some 5th-grade students from across Greene County to the Greene County Career & Technology Center for a fun-filled day of career exploration!

🔔 From wiring doorbells and building birdhouses to exploring healthcare in our Haunted ER 🏥👻 and making delicious fudge 🍫, students had the opportunity to roll up their sleeves and experience hands-on learning in our CTE programs!

These experiences are about more than just having fun — they're about sparking curiosity, discovering interests, and introducing students to the many career pathways available right here in Greene County!

A huge thank you to our GCCTC instructors and students for creating such engaging activities and to our sending school districts for making this opportunity possible!

We hope to see many of these future career-ready students back in our classrooms someday!

Last week, our GCCTC seniors had the opportunity to complete hands-on fire extinguisher training, learning important skills they can carry with them into the workplace and beyond.

A special thank you to Arthur Cole, with H.O.T. LLC, for taking the time to provide this valuable training experience for our students. We appreciate our community and industry partners who help prepare our students with real-world safety skills!

We are excited to announce that Krissa Snyder, a senior from Jefferson-Morgan who is enrolled in the EMS program, has been selected as a SkillsUSA Conference Officer!

Krissa will represent Greene County CTC at the 7 Springs Leadership Conference in October. Mr. Kieffer and Mrs. Goodwin, SkillsUSA advisors, along with the administration and staff at the CTC, are so proud of Krissa for stepping up as a leader within SkillsUSA and representing our school and chapter in this exciting opportunity.

Honoring the Heroes of September 11th

We are incredibly proud of our GCCTC JROTC and Emergency Medical Services students for the meaningful ways they honored and remembered the heroes of September 11, 2001.

🚑 Our EMS students participated in a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, alongside members of the Bobtown, Jefferson, Nemacolin, and Rices Landing Volunteer Fire Departments. Together, they climbed in honor of the firefighters, first responders, and other heroes who courageously sacrificed their lives while helping others on September 11th. Each step served as a tribute to their bravery, service, and sacrifice.

Our JROTC cadets visited several school districts to present a special 9/11 remembrance program, using an honorary flag to represent and reflect upon the events of September 11th and the lasting impact they had on our nation.

We are proud of our students, instructors, and local first responders for coming together to demonstrate service, respect, leadership, and remembrance. Thank you to our local volunteer fire departments for joining our students in this meaningful tribute.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

SkillsUSA Seniors participated in SkillsUSA National Signing Day. This special event recognized students as they committed to their future careers, apprenticeships, military service, employment opportunities, and continued education pathways. We are proud of their hard work, dedication, and accomplishments as they take the next step toward success.

Congratulations to all of our students on this exciting milestone! Mr. Keiffer and Mrs. Goodwin wish the seniors the best in their future.

Greene County CTC will have the flower trailer from Oak Tree Acres Flower Farm set up out front before our Senior Recognition ceremony on May 14th at WCHS. They will be offering bouquets of flowers to be purchased for your graduate. The bouquets are $10 or $25.
