Mr. Mitchell's Class Welcome to the WCTC Manufacturing program. This is a very exciting course for those who feel their future involves working in the Machining field.

The demand for skilled, trained Machinists has never been greater. All industry is in need of quality people who are able to make tools, gages, dies and rapid prototyping. Our goal is provide educational opportunities to all students that will enable them to succeed in the Machining field. Our classes are here to help you build the foundation of what all Machinists must know to be able to move into the many branches of the manufacturing family.

Our new Bambu Labs printer started the 3-D job of printing out the letters for our competition amongst the students to create the best design to spell out “Machine Shop”.

Below is the blueprint students received in our Machine Tool Technology program...they then have to find the correct metal and manufacture the fly cutter to the correct sizes listed on the print. On top of the blueprint you see the finished product one of Mr Mitchell’s students completed! Mr Ricky Mitchell offers the Machining Technology program of study under Tennessee’s Advanced Manufacturing career cluster. Student course sequence is:
—Principles of Manufacturing
—Principles of Machining I and II
—Dual Enrollment (EPSO) at WCTC through TCAT-Hohenwald as a junior/senior

Industry certifications available: NIMS (National Institute for Metalworking Skills)

EPSO: Early Postsecondary Opportunity, also known as dual enrollment

Mr Mitchell conducts Math Mondays which is often a surprise to students. Math is important in this field and many more! WCTC would love go see you join our Machining program!
