In Mrs. McAndrews' Computer Science & Engineering class, students worked together to complete a puzzle, but with a twist—one student was blindfolded while the other gave verbal directions. The activity encouraged teamwork, communication, and a lot of laughter as pieces slowly came together.

What an incredible week for our chapter at the 2026 Mississippi FFA State Convention in Starkville!

We are proud to celebrate several outstanding accomplishments:

🏆 Noah Thompson earned 1st Place in National Creed Speaking and had the honor of reciting the FFA Creed on stage during convention. Noah will now advance to represent Mississippi at the National FFA Convention this October!

🌟 Our chapter was recognized with the National Chapter Award, a testament to the hard work, dedication, and service of our members throughout the year.

🍎 Mrs. Kallie Hopewell was honored with a Distinguished Agriculture Teacher Award, presented by Brianna Moore, 2025-2026 Mississippi FFA State Treasurer, in recognition of her commitment to agricultural education and the positive impact she has made.

Congratulations to all of our members and supporters who helped make this year a success. We are excited to see what the future holds as we continue to grow leaders, build communities, and strengthen agriculture.

Our 2nd Year Health Science students had the opportunity to serve their community at the Community Health Fair held at Pineville Missionary Baptist Church on Friday, May 2. Students checked blood pressures and shared important information about hypertension, gaining valuable hands-on experience while helping promote healthy living. We are proud of the way they represented WCCTC through service and professionalism!

WCCTC’s Educators Rising students were proud to partner with all of the K-8 Jr. BETA Clubs across Wayne County for a community service project benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities in Mobile, Alabama.

Together, students worked to collect as many drink pull tabs as possible to help support families with hospitalized children. Aluminum pull tabs from soda, soup, and pet food cans are recycled by RMHC to help cover operational expenses such as electricity, housing, and other needs for families staying near their children during difficult times.

We are excited to announce that the Jr. BETA Club at Clara School collected the largest donation and was rewarded with an Ice Cream Party for their outstanding efforts! 🍦🎉

We are incredibly thankful to ALL of the schools, students, sponsors, and community members who participated in this project and helped make a difference for families in need. Your generosity and teamwork truly show the power of service and leadership in Wayne County! ❤️

Wayne County Career Technical Center is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Diesel Service Technician Instructor.

This full-time, licensed position offers an opportunity to prepare the next generation of skilled diesel technicians through classroom instruction and hands-on training.

The Diesel Service Technician program focuses on teaching students to diagnose diesel engine mechanical issues and repair diesel engine-related components. Instruction includes cab systems, brakes, suspension and steering, drivetrains, HVAC, electrical/electronic systems, hydraulics, and preventative maintenance while emphasizing both theoretical and activity-based learning.

Applicants must meet Mississippi licensure requirements for a 968 endorsement, including relevant work experience and/or educational requirements. To view the complete job posting and apply, visit:
