POV: You had a busy, but fun week at Summer Leadership Camp!
Our FFA members had a blast in Covington this week at SLC! They were up before 7 a.m every day cleaning cabins for inspections before spending the day participating in leadership activities, competitions, and camp events.
Throughout the week, students tackled the mud obstacle course and the blob, competed in softball and volleyball games, and participated in both team and individual competitions. (Shoutout to Luke and his partner for winning the football throw competition for our cabin!)
One of the unique parts of SLC is that students are placed in cabins with FFA members from chapters across Georgia. This gave our students the opportunity to meet new people from middle and high school chapters, make new friends, work as a team, and practice leadership skills with students they had never met before. They showed great sportsmanship, stepped outside their comfort zones, and represented our chapter well all week long. It was a great reminder that SLC is about much more than competitions. It is about building leaders, developing confidence, and creating connections that extend far beyond our own chapter.
From Team Dorito Descendants to Team Taki Tornados, our members made some great memories and are already planning for next year!
