The BCHS FFA Chapter is excited to announce that we are selling $5 raffle tickets for a chance to win a David Yurman Classic Cable Bracelet! All proceeds will help our students travel to Indianapolis, Indiana, in October for the National FFA Convention.

Funds raised will help cover expenses such as flights, housing, convention registration, leadership opportunities, and more.

Sales end: Friday, September 25
Drawing: Monday, September 28 at 3:15 PM via Facebook Live
Winner will be notified by phone
The winner will be able to choose their own bracelet band size.

Our Burke County High School FFA members have the opportunity to attend the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, where they'll participate in leadership workshops, explore agricultural careers, connect with industry professionals, and gain experiences that will help prepare them for their futures.

🌾 Building More Than Barns

Today in Agriculture Classes, our students put their soft skills to the test during our first team-building challenge of the year!

Using only a few simple materials, teams were challenged to build the tallest free-standing structure. While it may have looked like a fun competition, students were developing skills that employers value every day:
✔️ Communication
✔️ Teamwork
✔️ Leadership
✔️ Critical Thinking
✔️ Problem Solving
✔️ Creativity

It was exciting to watch students share ideas, encourage one another, adapt when plans didn't work, and celebrate each other's successes. These are the same skills they'll use in the classroom, through FFA, and in their future careers.

At Burke County High School Agriculture, we're committed to growing leaders—not just teaching agriculture.

Leadership isn't just built in the classroom—it's built through teamwork, vision, and a shared commitment to serving others.

The last few days our FFA Officer Team traded the school walls for the beach as we spent time planning for an exciting year ahead! From brainstorming chapter activities and community service projects to discussing competitions, conferences, leadership opportunities, and ways to better serve our members, these students dedicated their time to making our chapter stronger.

I am incredibly proud of this group. They challenged each other, shared new ideas, set goals, and proved that leadership is about putting your chapter before yourself. Of course, we also made time to laugh, make memories, learn to cook, and enjoy those beach waves 🌊🏖️☀️
