Our Wayne County special education leaders had a great turnout as they prepared for our school year ahead at the Michigan Assoc. of Administrators of Special Education (MAASE) Summer Institute. Wayne County leaders led professional development with Dr. David Bateman with more than 60 of our special education leaders countywide. Onward!

The Westland Public Library and Detroit Zoo recently hosted Wildlife Protectors, a two-day program giving K-2 students the opportunity to learn about animals and their habitats and become wildlife ambassadors! This program was made possible with a mini-grant from the Region 10 MiFamily Engagement Center, administered by Wayne RESA and funded by MiLEAP. Kids who completed the program earned a free trip to the Detroit Zoo with their families!
