Our Wayne County Superintendents are taking their advocacy from their school communities to Lansing! Many of our school leaders are meeting with elected officials, urging them to finalize the School Aid Budget by July 1, and in a way that best supports our students and communities. See several of our Superintendents with Michigan Representative Rylee Linting and Representative Matt Koleszar.

This year's Backpacks to Briefcases event hosted 200 Wayne County eighth graders, inviting them to explore career pathways and take advantage of opportunities awaiting them in high school. This year's event was held at WCCCD's Ted Scott Campus, and students were able to visit the training labs for healthcare, HVAC, and robotics fields.

Additional career exploration opportunities for students, including summer programs, can be found on our website at https://www.resa.net/family-and-community/workforce-development/career-exploration-planning/

This event is part of Wayne RESA's commitment to supporting the State of Michigan’s "60 by 30" goal, which aims to increase the number of adults with a skill certificate or college degree to 60 percent by 2030.

This year's Tri-County Meaningful Mathematics and STEM Showcase was record-breaking, with 1,200 middle and high school students in attendance! The students explored real-world applications of math and science and presented original research on topics of personal interest and issues affecting their communities.

The exciting event was held at the WCCCD Downtown Campus and hosted by Wayne RESA, Oakland Schools, and Washtenaw ISD. We're grateful to all the partners who helped make this event possible, and to all the students who shared their learning with each other.
